A resource sector initiative, Verisafe provides standardised verification of competency for High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) holders

The Verisafe program has been discontinued with effect from Friday, 19 December 2025 (Cessation Date).

This decision was made after a thorough review of the program’s objectives and long-term sustainability. The Verisafe program has made a valuable contribution to enhancing consistency in competency assessments for licensed high-risk work. As the industry continues to evolve, members are focussing on other initiatives aligned to their emerging priorities in training and assessment.

Verisafe and its members would like to thank its partners for their support and participation in the program.
What this may mean for you:

• Verisafe Verification of Competency (VOCs) will no longer delivered by the Verisafe partner organisations.
• Operators who previously specified Verisafe VOC’s have notified their contractors about Verisafe’s discontinuance and their new requirements. Individual operators will have differing policies in regards competency compliance and so you should contact your contract manager to understand their new specification for competency assessments.
• A Verisafe VOC should continue to be valid until their expiry date. However, you should verify the compliance policy of individual operators by contacting your contract manager.
